Ring Out Wild Bells is an SATB choral piece composed in December of 1969, while Alfred was in Stuttgart, Germany. This piece is also dedicated to Miss Hilda Deighton. It is a musical setting of the text of a poem by the same name, written by Alfred Lord Tennyson. Tennyson wrote the poem in 1850 as an elegy to his sister’s deceased fiancé.
