An artist's book containing a whimsical sea narrative. Text and illustrations are on a series of 11 booklets (18 x 9 cm.) and a folded leaf (53 x 35 cm. folded to 18 x 9 cm.), held in a basswood box with two compartments. Each booklet is made from two 18 x 36 cm. sheets folded together and sewn together with string at two folds. The booklets and folded leaf, held together in a card stock envelope with tab-and-slot enclosure, fit into the narrower of the two compartments in the box. The other compartment of the box contains a three-dimensional tunnel of cut-out illustrations, with a quotation from Bernard Moitessier at the rear. The box has a linen hard cover that is attached only at the back, with embossed title and printed endsheet. The colophon is on the interior of the card stock envelope.

"This object was written, designed and printed by Michelle Ray at The Small Craft Advisory Press, Florida State University. Images and text were created with photopolymer plates, using Trajan and Optima typefaces on handmade cotton/abaca, French Construction and Neenah environment papers. The enclosure is linen and basswood. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the College Book Art Association for providing financial assistance with this project ... This object's title is derived from a Bernard Moitessier quote"--Colophon.
