About the Exhibition

Vanderbilt’s Colombiana exhibition was created to welcome members of the Colombo Americano Institute who partook in the Global Pathways Summit on February 23, 2017.  Furthermore, the exhibition’s purpose was to showcase Vanderbilt’s rich Colombian resources in its special collections, including the J. León Helguera and Manuel Zapata Olivella collections, as well as the 19th century Colombian travel accounts.  Vanderbilt looks forward to continuing to collaborate with Colombian scholars to promote further research in Colombian studies.

Dora Saclarides is a graduate student in the Center for Latin American Studies.  She is a Library Fellow and was responsible for the research and curation for the Colombiana exhibition.
