Description

Carol Hamilton Scott graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1953. Since her graduation, her mission has been to provide services to eliminate poverty and illiteracy in the Springfield, Ohio, community. During the 1960s she was active in the Civil Rights Movement and directed the Springfield Urban League’s Leadership Development Project. This collection contains 30 pieces of correspondence from Civil Rights Movement leader, the Reverend James M. Lawson, Jr. to Carol Hamilton during his time in prison for refusing to enlist in the Korean War.
