Description
James G. Stahlman was a 1919 graduate of Vanderbilt University and editor and owner of the Nashville Banner. He began working at the newspaper in 1912 when his grandfather E. B. Stahlman was part owner and with few gaps in between and was affiliated with the paper till he sold it to the Gannett Company in 1972. He was a dedicated booster of Vanderbilt University serving on the Board of Trust from 1927 to 1976 many of those years as president.
