The Sasser Papers document the life and career of James Sasser, a former three-term U.S. senator from Tennessee and ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, and his wife, Mary Sasser. In this sizable collection are found the inner-workings of Sasser’s office while a senator as well as items relating to the Sassers’ experience in China during the 1990s while serving as ambassador.
