An artist's book combining narrative vignettes on themes of deception by Bell with illustrations by La Fontaine.
Consists of 14 unbound bifolios laid in a paper folder. 12 of the bifolios contain an illustration by La Fontaine printed in black on the first page, another printed in purple on the second, and text by Bell on the third page, with the fourth page being blank except for page number. Title on the third page of the first bifolio; colophon on the first page of the last bifolio. A vignette of a double tongue is printed in blue on the front cover of the folder. The whole is held in a ribbon-tied portfolio of grey cloth.
