An artist's book in six "volumes," each in the form of a large (16 x 12 cm.), flattened matchbook. Each "matchbook" has a color illustration of a famous U.S. monument or structure--the Gateway Arch, the Washington Monument, the Golden Gate Bridge, Mt. Rushmore, Hoover Dam, or the Statue of Liberty--on its front cover. The cover unfolds upward, as in a real matchbook, to reveal a pornographic interior illustration and an array of flat paper "matches" which collectively bear another pornographic illustration. A brief title appears on the folded-up strip at bottom which covers the attached ends of the "matches"; staples secure the structure at bottom. The same brief title plus a whimsical and unreliable description of the monument or structure featured appear on the back of each "matchbook," which also bears the notation "from the set 'SNATCHES.'"
