An artist's book made by Amy Pirkle, combining a brief narrative by her grandfather with a sequence of identical photographic images of him in a flag book structure.
"All images are based on snapshots that my grandfather, Lee Pirkle, sent home to his family during his time overseas in the early 1950s. His cursive handwriting is from the backs of these photos, written when he was 21 years old. He wrote the narrative reflecting on this time almost 60 years later"--Colophon.
