One-of-a-kind artist's book. Combines a poem with illustrations of mountainous landscapes and moons. Middle leaf is folded in half. Four remaining leaves (two on each side of middle leaf) have rotating central panels that can twist to display either front or back of the leaf. Recto side of each leaf holds text of a single poem on thick mounted paper. Verso side has large cut-out of a letter from the word "MOON." Within the letter are repeating words describing moon phases (i.e. waxing, waning, lunar cycle, new, etc.). Book can be unfolded panorma-style to show the entire word "MOON", but spelled backwards ("NOOM"). A single sheet of protective unbuffered tissue paper separates each leaf. Bound accordion-fold to blue paper-covered boards. Linen thread is attached to a single clear bead on the back cover of the book and each end wraps around a side of the book and onto silver bead enclosures on the front cover. Also on front cover is an inset panel of cut paper works illustrating a rising moon and with the book's title pasted on top.

Artist's statement: "Moon Musings explores moon lore through three original linocuts, two original poems, and various prose elements. On the book's front side, one linocut depicts the Moon over the Mountain quilt pattern; another, the optical illusion known as "the moon illusion"; and the third, a 17th-century naturalist's "elephant in the moon" sighting, poetically satirized by Samuel Butler. One of the original poems celebrates love using names attributed to each month's full moon, and the other poem delves into the mesmerizing "ghost moon" phenomenon. A description of the 17th-century naturalist's folly accompanies the related linocut. On the book's back, names of the lunar phases complement a Galileo quote regarding the moon's beauty.
