A collection of nine letterpress-printed broadsides on the general theme of the American Civil War, some more explicitly than others. Each broadside contains a poem or epigrammatic text, and some also incorporate images. They are printed on papers of various weights and colors, and some are printed partially or wholly in color. A tenth sheet of the same dimensions serves as introduction, table of contents and colophon.

The broadsides are housed in a simple folder of boards with a pocket on the back pastedown. The folder is covered half in gray cloth and half in blue; the edge of the blue cloth at their juncture is raggedly cut, and the title is printed partly on the blue cloth in gray and partly on the gray cloth in blue, with the subtitle in blue on the gray.
