"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!” These words, spoken by Walter B. Gibson's fictional crime-fighting vigilante The Shadow are part of radio history. The Shadow radio program debuted on the 1930 CBS Detective Story Hour, and quickly built a fan base as The Shadow, alias Lamont Cranston, helped police fight crime with his psychic powers of invisibility. The show ran for 20 years and continues to be popular in re-broadcasts such as this, featuring Orson Wells.
